Crafting Your Own Family Legacy Video For Father's Day

Here's how to use Canva to help create a visually stunning video of your family's best values, events and memories:

  • Choose the right template: Canva has a large selection of templates, including video templates, which you can choose from.  There are free selections and pro (paid selections)

  • Choose your favorite, most fun-filled and most cherished of your photos and videos: Upload your favorite photos and videos to Canva's media library from within your account area (left sidebar).  You can even do a video within a video!

  • Add background music: Add a soundtrack to your video to bring it to life. Canva has a library of royalty-free music tracks, or you can upload your music. Alternatively - to make your video even more special, upload a sound-track of your own.  Did a family member sing, play guitar, whistle whole songs beautifully, play the harmonica, have a favorite saying or do you have a short snippet of them laughing or any other special moment or memory?  Upload it and put it in your video!

  • Customize your text:

  • Add text overlays to your video to provide context and narrative. You'll find Canva's text templates are easy to use and to modify into your own message.

  • Edit and export your video: Use Canva's video editor to add transitions, visual effects, and cropping to your clips.

  • Once you’re satisfied with your video, you can export your project as an MP4 file.

  • Share with your family

  • You can also upload your video to a video streaming platform, social media platforms, or even send them via email to share with your loved ones.

By getting creative with Canva, you can turn your family's precious memories into a visually stunning video ALL of you will cherish - a perfect addition to your Legacy Letter!

Don't have a Legacy Letter?  It may be the most important letter you will ever write!

On the topic of Father's Day, this is my 2nd Father's Day without my dad.  Before the last few months before he passed, he struggled hard to write to my sisters with fingers that could no longer put to paper what was on his heart.  Unfortunately after struggling several times over many hours he gave up.

Since that time, I've come to learn about Blake Brewer and the shocking turn of events that forever changed Blake's life. I'm positive that had my dad known about Blake's program, he would have jumped at the chance to finally be able to say what was really on his heart.  Something I know he regretted right up to the day he passed.

  • To learn more about Blake and how he can personally help you craft a letter that says what's on your heart ... you can find out more here>>

PS - I'm no video expert, and when you start your legacy letter if you'd like to use the same template I did, DM me through Fb with the words "Legacy Video Template" and I'll share with you my own personal template like the one shown above!
